Ted Mendrek

Ted began fishing at an early age with a pocket full of worms and a spinning rod.  This simple beginning is what later fueled Ted's transitioned into fly fishing and fly tying. As a 15 year veteran in the Professional Fly Fishing Industry, along with his pure passion for fly fishing, Ted  has had the opportunities to see and fish some very special places throughout the world - including spending several seasons guiding on the remote Alaska Pennisula.  Stop by the store and visit with Ted about the latest in the sport of Fly Fishing...share some stories...or let him help you prepare for your next outing.

Tommy Watson
Tommy was raised in a hunting family and started harvesting small game at an early age.  He took his fist buck (does were illegal at the time) at age 11 unassisted.    Tommy has always had an avid interest in firearms and it has been a lifetime hobby.  Tommy enjoys recreational and competitive shooting.

Joe Robinson
Joe has been fishing since he was a kid, so it was natural that he would want to figure out someway to make a living out of being around fishing tackle and the "fishing folds".  Joe was a former Head Instructor for the  L.L. Bean Fly Fishing School, and has been a Fly Fishing Industry Icon for over 30 years.  As a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor, Joe has been instrumental in improving the fly-fishing skills of thousands throughout his career.  In recent years, Joe has developed a deep passion for Super-Ultralight Spin Fishing (2-4 lb test) and is currently the ring leader for the underground society of new S.U.S. recruits.  Joe has written a book entitled "Piscatorial Absurdities; A Fly Fisherman's Guide to Radical Ultralight Spin Fishing" and is the expert authority on the "Snap Cast", the "Flip Cast" and the "Fer de Lance Cast".  Come by the store and visit with Joe...you will enjoy his wealth of knowledge, expertise and quick humor!

August M. Crocker
I've been an avid hunter and shotgun competitor since age 12. I grew up in South Texas and was fortunate to have a Dad that took me hunting and always supported my competing in clays. Everything I have ever won I owe to him. Mowing yards put me into my first high grade gun (Win Pigeon Grade) at age 13 and I have been a lover of fine guns ever since. As a former rep and shooter for Eley & Kemen I got to travel here and abroad chasing the things I had dreamed of doing. Here at home some of my favorite wins have included Capitol City Champ, High Hammer Champ at World Vintagers and making Master Class at the 04 Texas Challenge Series. As the Fine Gun Manager for Sportsman’s Finest I handle the Selection, Fitting and Service of fine guns particular to a customers needs, but also something they will enjoy every time they see it.

I am a native austinite and graduated from Austin High and the University of Texas at Austin.  I have been an avid hunter and shooter most of my life.  I enjoy shooting sporting clays and trap skeet.  I love to fish at the Gulf Coast of Texas.  I have been employed in the shooting industry for the last three and a half years, after retiring from the local utility.

Stephanie Carter
Growing up on a 1000 acre ranch highly influenced my outdoor activity. I enjoy both hunting and fishing. I harvested my first deer when I was about 11 years old. My Dad took me fishing when I was little with one of those snoopy reels. I have been fortunate enough to experience a wide range of fishing and hunting destinations. From fishing Blue Marlin in Hawaii to hunting in Africa, if you are ever given the opportunity to explore a new destination don't pass it up!
