In order to be weather resistant, submersible, and naturally resistant to internal fogging when traveling through extreme temperature changes or environmental factors, its optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed. To enable accurate eyepiece placement in relation to the mounting system, the tripod collar incorporates a rotating collar and a 1/4"-20 connector on the bottom of the Arca-Swiss-compatible shoe.
