Fly fishing is what put Tipiliuke on the map more than 20 years ago. Considered by many to be one of the worlds’ top fly fishing destinations, Tipiliuke, in Northern Patagonia, is home to more than 17 miles of the finest trout waters on the planet (including 9 miles of the well-known Chimehuín River).
This location is the more laid back vacation style situation.Waking to an amazing breakfast, you will soon find your way out the door for your day of fishing on the famed waters. You will come back to the lodge after a morning of fishing for lunch and a short siesta, then back out again a little later for an evening on the water.
Once the sun goes down the anglers will find themselves on the way back to the lodge for authentic regional cuisine and cocktails. The majority of the fishing is done by means of wading in assigned beats on the river, but you can arrange for fishing from a drift boat in the upper section of the river if you prefer.Fishing here is considered the “classic” trout fishing scenario, where our anglers can be sure that they will be presented with primarily dry fly fishing opportunities.
But it is always good to make sure that our anglers know that on any given day a river can change its mind about how it is supposed to behave. So, being prepared for any style trout fishing is a must when spending time at this operation. An average fish is 14-20 inches however those huge brown trout that the area is known for can be fished for during low light situations by means of larger rods and streamers.
