Description

This is a Winchester 1897 slide action, exposed hammer, solid-frame shotgun. This gun was made in 1918, and the serial number falls in the range as US Army issues trench shotguns. It features a steel butt plate, a steel heat shield/bayonet mount, and a 20 inch barrel as specified by the US Army in 1917. This gun has been verified as to have been issued durring the First World War, and features arsenal marks in front of the ejection port.
