Description
Soon after the APC9 platform was introduced, calls for a B&T larger-framed variant chambered for the common 5.56 NATO cartridge started to pour in. B&T developed a fully ambidextrous, state-of-the-art assault rifle by incorporating all the features and advantages found in the APC9. The piston working system of the APC223/556, which is optimized for use with a suppressor, may be controlled via an adjustable gas valve. It can be adjusted if the weapon grows increasingly fouled as a result of frequent shooting or extended use with a suppressor. Less gas is trapped within the system thanks to the piston design, which further makes the working system more reliable under difficult conditions. The platform is cleaner for the shooter and more comfortable to shoot suppressed since any remaining gas is discharged forward of the shooter. The APC223/556 rifle caliber platform uses a hydraulic buffer system, just as the APC9, to greatly lessen felt recoil and muzzle rise while increasing terminal performance, intermediate barrier penetration, and sheer energy on target – all in a size designed for discreet deployment. Numerous B&T attachments, such as folding/telescoping stocks, interfaces, handguard improvements, optic mounts, and suppressors, are compatible with the APC rifle platform.
