Every EXPERIOR handgun is built on the match-grade slide, frame, and barrel manufactured internally by Wilson Combat and hand-fitted by their master gunsmiths for a lifetime of high performance. To produce a look that honors tradition while maintaining excellent performance, the EXPERIOR keeps the historic 1911-style slide serrations, fixed Wilson Combat battle sights, and the iconic 1911 extractor design. The new Wilson Combat TRAK grip texture, which is a hybrid, large asymmetric, flat-top checkering pattern and is included on all EXPERIOR models, provides a superb, non-abrasive grip without catching on cover clothing. The frame and grips' TRAK grip pattern provides unmatched comfort while improving recoil control. WAVE frame rail clearance cuts are present on all single stack EXPERIOR models for lower friction operation in challenging conditions. The WAVE clearing cuts keep lubricant in place and guarantee that your handgun will cycle smoothly even if it is heavily fouled with sand or other grit. For the 9mm versions, a new EXPERIOR barrel locking lug design has a smaller front locking surface to significantly improve cycling in challenging conditions or with lower power loads without compromising accuracy or toughness.
